Checklists that are actually done, and handovers that carry forward.
KnowOps puts the daily checklist at the station with photo and timestamp proof, compiles the shift handover from the shift's own records and follows up on anything missed. Ella answers "what happened overnight?" before the incoming lead walks the line.
KnowOps
Shift handover
Built with plant, warehouse and site teams who run shifts every day.
Where the day goes today
The frontline runs on whiteboards and memory. Checklists get signed but not always done, and nobody finds out until something fails. Handover is a conversation at the door, so what the night shift knew walks out with them. The production count is reconstructed the next morning, downtime reasons are guesses, and the improvement idea an operator had last week is on a sticky note somewhere. Managers hear about problems late, when they are expensive.
From the first check of the shift to the handover, in six steps
Checklist at the station
Startup, line, pre-op and sanitation checks appear on a phone or tablet where the work happens, with photo and timestamp proof.
Act on a failed check
When a check fails, the agent proposes the right next step: a work order for maintenance or a nonconformance for quality. You approve.
Capture the numbers live
Hourly counts, downtime reasons and OEE inputs are recorded at the line, not reconciled tomorrow.
Compile the handover
At shift end the agent drafts the handover from the records: what ran, what failed, what is open and what the next shift needs to know.
Acknowledge and carry forward
The incoming lead reads, asks Ella what happened overnight, and acknowledges. Open items carry forward until closed.
Run the tier board
Daily KPIs, actions and escalations roll up to the tier meeting live, so the meeting is about decisions, not data collection.
The daily management system, run by an agent
Checklists with proof
Photo and timestamp on every check. Skipped steps are visible, not hidden behind a signature.
Structured shift handover
Compiled from the shift's records with open issues, counts and safety notes carried forward automatically.
Production control
Hourly counts, downtime reasons and OEE inputs captured at the line.
Tier boards and daily meetings
KPIs, actions and escalations in one live board for tier 1, 2 and 3 meetings.
Failed check to action
A failed check opens a work order in KnowMaintain or a nonconformance in KnowQuality, with the evidence attached.
Continuous improvement
Kaizen ideas, 5S audits and daily actions tracked from suggestion to done.
Ask Ella
"What happened overnight on Line 3?" or "Which sites are behind on sanitation?" answered from the records.
Receiving, despatch and yard checks
Inbound checks, load and seal checks, cycle counts and gate check-ins run the same way on the dock and in the yard.
Standard work across sites
The same checklists, handovers and boards at every site, with the numbers arriving the same morning.
Built for the people who run the shift
Plant and site managers
Who want to hear about problems while they can still be fixed, not at tomorrow's meeting.
Shift leads and supervisors
Who inherit the last shift's open items and need to know what they are walking into.
Operations leaders across sites
Pushing standard work and tired of every site running its own way with data that arrives late.
Warehouse and DC managers
Running receiving, despatch, cycle count and yard checks on the same system.
Your standard, your approval
KnowOps prepares and proposes. People decide. A failed check becomes a proposed action, a handover is a draft until the lead acknowledges it, and nothing is escalated or sent to another system without your rules or your approval.
- Your checklists, your cadence. Daily, per shift, per changeover or per batch, set by site and line.
- Proof you choose. Decide which checks need a photo, a reading or a second signature.
- Escalation you define. Who hears about a skipped step, and how quickly.
- Full history. Every check, count, handover and acknowledgement kept for audits and customers.

Questions about KnowOps
How does it stop checklists being signed but not done?
Each check is done at the station on a phone, with a photo or reading and a timestamp. A skipped step shows as skipped, and the agent follows up on it rather than letting a signature cover it.
What does the agent do when a check fails?
It proposes the right next step: a work order to KnowMaintain for an equipment problem, or a nonconformance to KnowQuality for a product problem. A person approves before anything is opened.
Where does the handover come from?
From the shift's own records: checks, counts, downtime notes and open items. The agent drafts it; the outgoing lead can edit it and the incoming lead acknowledges it.
Who uses it day to day?
Operators and shift leads do the checks and read the handover. Supervisors and managers run the tier board and see what is open across lines and sites.
Does it work in a warehouse or yard, not just a plant?
Yes. Receiving checks, load and seal checks, cycle counts and gate check-ins run the same way as line checks.
How does it relate to KnowMaintain and KnowQuality?
KnowOps runs the daily checks and the shift. When a check finds an equipment or product problem, it hands the action to KnowMaintain or KnowQuality and shows the result back on the handover.
Does it need Wi-Fi everywhere on the floor?
Checks are done on a phone or tablet and sync when back in coverage. Details vary by workspace setup.
Can we show an auditor or a customer our records?
Yes. Every check, photo, count, handover and acknowledgement is kept with its timestamp, so you can show what was done on any shift.
