Film a task for assessment from a phone

How to shoot a short clip that KnowErgo can score well: angle, length, lighting and what to include.

3 min read
No wearables or special hardware are needed. A clear clip from a standard phone or camera is enough for KnowErgo to track posture and joint angles.
1

Film from the side, at a steady distance

A side view shows the back, shoulder, elbow and knee angles best. Keep the whole body in frame, hold the phone steady, and avoid filming into bright light.

2

Capture one complete work cycle

Include the start, the lift or reach, and the set-down. A short clip covering the full cycle is better than a long clip of part of it. For lifting tasks, note the load weight and the lift distance so the NIOSH and manual-handling scores are accurate.

3

Upload the clip

Common formats such as MP4 and MOV are accepted. Add the task name, station and shift so the result can be found and compared later. Where the clip is uploaded from depends on your workspace setup.

4

Let KnowErgo do the scoring

Pose estimation tracks every joint through the clip and the task is scored within minutes. You get the result with annotated snapshots of the moments that drove the score.
