Read RULA, REBA, NIOSH and manual-handling scores

What each assessment method measures, how to read the verdict, and how to use the annotated snapshots.

KnowErgo scores a task with the same frameworks ergonomists use. Each method answers a different question, so a task can be fine on one and flagged on another.
1

RULA: upper-limb strain

Rapid Upper Limb Assessment looks at arm, wrist and neck posture, plus muscle use and load. It suits seated and standing tasks where hands and arms do the work.

2

REBA: whole-body posture

Rapid Entire Body Assessment adds the trunk and legs. Use it for tasks that involve bending, twisting, kneeling or awkward whole-body positions.

3

NIOSH, Snook, WISHA and MAC: lifting and handling

The NIOSH lifting equation gives a recommended weight limit for a lift. Snook tables cover push, pull and carry. The WISHA lifting calculator and the Manual Handling Assessment Charts (MAC) give quick manual-handling risk grades. Together they show whether the load and the movement are within safe limits.

4

Read the verdict and the snapshots

Each score comes with a plain-language verdict and risk level. Annotated pose snapshots show the exact moments that drove the score, for example a bent neck for most of the cycle or a wrist deviating during a reach.

5

Use the recommendation

KnowErgo pairs each finding with a practical change, such as raising the work surface or adding a grip point. The recommendation becomes the corrective action your team approves.
