FAQ: suppliers, subcontractors and the other agents

Whether it covers suppliers and subcontractors, and how it fits with KnowSafe and KnowOps.

3 min read
KnowContractor covers the contractor lifecycle. These are the questions that come up when teams want to stretch it further.
1

Can procurement use it for suppliers?

Yes. The same document collection, expiry tracking and renewal chasing work for supplier onboarding, including tax forms and insurance certificates.

2

What about a general contractor's subcontractors?

Subcontractors can be tracked under the general contractor, with their own documents and inductions, so you can see who is actually on site.

3

Does it recognise safety certifications such as COR?

Yes. Certifications are collected as documents with expiry dates, and you can make them a requirement for a contractor type.

4

How does it fit with KnowSafe?

KnowSafe runs incidents and corrective actions. A contractor incident or a failed contractor audit uses the same loop, and the result feeds the scorecard.

5

And KnowOps?

KnowOps runs visitor access and facility checks. KnowContractor handles the contractor side of site access: approval, induction and permits.
