Work a defect from report to release
What the shop and the safety manager see when a defect comes in, how to approve the repair and how to release the unit.
Review the drafted repair order
Open the draft. You will see the defect, the driver's photo and note, the unit's recent inspections and repairs and whether the unit is currently held under your rules.
Approve and send it to the shop
Change the priority or the description if needed and approve. The repair order goes to KnowMaintain or your shop system, and the agent follows up until it is closed.
Release the unit
When the repair is marked done, the person you chose in your rules reviews it and releases the unit. Until then it stays held and dispatch can see that.
Check for repeat defects
If the same unit keeps reporting the same defect, the agent flags it so the shop can look at the cause rather than the symptom.
Run tomorrow's walkarounds through it.
Bring a few units and driver files, and we will show you how defects get routed, units get held and expiries get caught early.
