Approve and assign a work order

What a supervisor sees in a drafted work order, how to change it and how the agent follows up after assignment.

3 min read
Every work order arrives as a proposal. A person approves it, picks the technician and sets the priority. From there the agent reminds, collects completion notes and escalates anything overdue.
1

Review the draft

Open the drafted work order. You will see the source (a report, a failed check or an alert), the asset, its recent history, the evidence and the agent's proposed priority and technician.

2

Change what you need

Edit the description, change the priority, pick a different technician or merge it with an existing work order on the same asset. Then approve.

3

Let the agent follow up

The technician gets the job on their phone. The agent reminds them as the due date approaches and asks for completion notes and photos when it is marked done.

4

Handle overdue work

If a work order passes its due date, the agent escalates to whoever you chose in your rules. Overdue work is visible in the backlog view rather than waiting for a weekly meeting.

5

Close and write back

Once closed, the work order, notes and photos are written to your CMMS and kept against the asset.

See your backlog the way the agent sees it.

Bring a few of your assets and last month's work orders, and we will show you how PMs get scheduled, defects become work orders and the CMMS stays current.
