Email Setup — the one address everything runs through
Your tenant's inbound address, how to forward your billing inbox to it, and what that single string feeds.
One card, one address
The page carries a search box, a filter, and one card. That card holds your tenant's inbound address and a copy affordance beside it. There is no SMTP host to enter, no OAuth consent screen, no mailbox credentials to store — KnowDoc never signs into your mail server. Documents arrive because your mail server sends them, not because KnowDoc reaches in.
Active, and auto-generated
The card shows two states worth reading: Active, meaning the address is accepting mail right now, and Auto-generated, meaning KnowDoc created it when your tenant was provisioned. You do not pick it and you do not need to rotate it. If the card ever reads anything other than Active, no documents are arriving and every queue downstream will look deceptively quiet.
How to get started: forward your billing inbox
The instruction on the card is the whole setup. Copy the address, then add a forwarding rule in whatever mailbox your carriers already invoice — the accounts-payable or billing inbox your team has been working out of. Carriers keep sending to the address they know; KnowDoc receives a copy and starts reading.
- Copy — The copy icon puts the address on your clipboard and confirms it.
- Forward — Add a rule in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or your mail gateway.
- Don't switch — Never ask carriers to re-address invoices — forward instead, and nothing breaks.
What that one string actually feeds
The walkthrough pulls back to show the chain. Everything downstream is fed by this address and nothing else: the Inbox where threads land, Flagged for documents that hit an exception, Review for the ones awaiting a human, Validation for orders being checked against the TMS, and Freight Audit. In the filmed tenant those queues held 1,394 · 402 · 127 · 561 · 430 documents respectively, with 5,200 already submitted to PPU and 954 validated onward to 3G. Every one of them arrived through this card.
Why the shortest page matters most
Because it is the single point of failure. If forwarding silently stops — a rule disabled during a mail migration, a distribution list changed — nothing errors. The queues simply stop growing, which looks like a quiet week rather than an outage. Treat a sudden flat line on the dashboard's volume chart as a reason to come back to this page and confirm the address is still Active and still being forwarded to.
