Set up and manage kiosk stations
Add a walk-up scanning station, check its capture quality and settings, pair or secure the device, and review every scan it takes.
1 · Find Kiosk Stations
Open the sidebar and scroll to Management — Kiosk Stations is the first item, above Team. The page reads "Walk-up scanning stations in this organisation. Each one authenticates with its own device token." and has two tabs, Stations and Scans.
2 · Read the station card
The Stations tab shows one card per station, for example "Desk test — laptop". Next to the name are its tags, and on the right is when it was last paired — or "never paired" for a new station.
- Active — The station is enabled.
- Staff assisted — The station's mode (the other mode is Self service).
- Keeps series — A tag shown on stations that keep series data.
3 · Check capture quality
Under the name, the card reports how well the station is capturing, based on the median of its recent scans — for example "Capturing, but limited · 23.6 fps · 65 signal · median of 20 scans". A plain-English note explains it: fast enough for heart rate and breathing, but marginal for HRV-derived readings, and more light on the face is the usual remedy. A station with no history shows "No scans yet".
4 · Adjust station settings
Each card has three settings for that station.
- Mains — The local mains frequency, for example 50 Hz.
- Blood pressure — How it appears on screen, for example Show a band only.
- Oxygen — How it appears on screen, for example Show the number.
5 · Manage the device
The buttons at the bottom of the card control the device itself.
- Pair this device — Pair a device so it becomes this station.
- Rotate token — Replace the station's device token.
- Disable — Turn the station off.
6 · Open the Scans tab
Switch to Scans to see the 50 most recent scans. Use the Station filter (All stations by default) to focus on one station, and Refresh to load new scans.
7 · Read a completed scan
Each completed scan shows the time, the station, and the vitals it measured — heart rate, breathing, oxygen, systolic and diastolic pressure — each with a confidence percentage. Estimated values carry an ESTIMATE tag, and the scan's quality score and frame rate sit on the right. If a reading wasn't reliable, the row says so, for example "Not measured reliably in this scan".
8 · Spot failed scans
Scans that didn't succeed are listed too. Could not measure shows the engine's reason, and Abandoned means the scan was stopped with no readings stored. A run of these usually means a station needs better light or positioning.
9 · Add a new station
Click Add Station to open the New station panel. Enter a Name — the Location is optional.
10 · Choose what appears on screen
Set how readings are shown at this station, using the guidance under each field.
- Blood pressure on screen — A band is recommended — the estimate has never been fitted to a cuff and tracks age and build more than pressure.
- Oxygen on screen — Bear in mind the camera cannot reliably detect genuinely low oxygen.
- Mains frequency — For example 50 Hz for Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia — it lets the camera cancel lighting flicker in hardware.
11 · Pick a mode
Choose how the station is used.
- Staff assisted — Shows the form for entering cuff and oximeter readings after each scan.
- Self service — Walk-up only, with no reference-reading entry.
12 · Decide on calibration research
"Keep colour signals for calibration research" is off by default. Turning it on adds a separate, default-off consent question for each patient — no video is ever kept — and generally makes the deployment a study, which needs approval.
13 · Create the station
Click Create station. The new station then needs a device paired to it before it can start scanning.
