Rate Finder answers a quick question without starting a project: which carriers can price these lanes, and at what rate? It searches your TMS contracts and the contracts you uploaded. This guide follows the walkthrough above.
In this article

1 · Open Rate Finder

Click Rate Finder in the sidebar, under Workspace, between Chat History and Carriers.

2 · The Lanes panel

Add up to 50 lanes — the counter beside Lanes shows how many you have, such as "1 of 50". Fields marked * are required: the same fields a project lane needs, because TMS rates nothing less. For uploaded contracts, a destination ZIP or state is enough.

3 · Choose rate sources

Tick the sources you want searched.

  • TMS contracts — Rates from your TMS — choose Carrier pay, Customer billing, Project, Market or Benchmark.
  • Uploaded contracts — Contracts you uploaded that are In Production and have a rate table.

4 · Enter a lane

Fill in the row for each lane.

  • Origin and destination — City, state (ST) and ZIP for each end.
  • Weight lb — The shipment weight in pounds.
  • Plts — The pallet count, if you have it (optional).
  • Commodity — What's being shipped.

5 · Find rates

Click Find rates to see every carrier that can price your lanes.

6 · More lanes

Click Add lane for another row, or the trash icon to remove one. To price many lanes at once, click Upload lanes and upload a sheet with origin / destination ZIP and weight columns.

7 · Make it an RFP

Once your lanes are priced, Make it an RFP at the top right takes them further as an RFP.

8 · Missing an uploaded contract?

Uploaded contracts join in only once their rate table is extracted on the Contracts page. Open the contract there — Rate table ready shows what the Rate Finder can use.

Send us your hardest RFP.

We'll run it through KnowRFP and you can compare the result with what your team sent.
