See the impact shows, in plain terms, what a strategy does to a quote before you save it. It prices the strategy on $1,000 of carrier cost using the same engine that builds your deliverables, so you can check the margins, the human checks and the custom rules before any bid goes out. This guide follows the walkthrough above.

1 · Open the impact panel

In the Strategy Builder, set up the strategy you want to check, then click See the impact at the top right. A panel opens headed with what the strategy does — for example "What “Default pricing” does" — priced on $1,000 of carrier cost.

2 · Read the headline numbers

Four numbers sum up the strategy.

  • Standard lane — The margin a standard lane gets, and what $1,000 of cost becomes — for example 15.0%, $1,000 → $1,150.
  • Most it adds — The highest margin the strategy adds, and on which kind of lane.
  • Min-margin floor — Below this margin, a quote goes to review.
  • Approval over — Quotes above this value need a human to sign them off, such as $5,000.

3 · Check each situation

The table lists each situation with its quote, its margin and what applied — for example "A standard lane, 300mi, dry van" quotes $1,150 at 15.0%, from the base margin of 15% (+$150).

4 · Check when a human steps in

Sent for a human to check when lists every reason a lane goes to manual review — such as a lane coming back unpriced, margin falling below the floor, two rules fighting over the same lane, or the quote running more than your benchmark cap over the market. Below it, the panel shows which customers the strategy applies to and which quotes need approval.

5 · Check your custom rules

Custom rules, in order lists each IF / THEN rule in the order it's evaluated, so you can confirm they'll apply the way you meant.

6 · Close it

These are the margins a bid gets before any lane-specific data. Click Looks good to close the panel, or go back and adjust the strategy and check the impact again.

7 · Save the strategy

When the impact looks right, click Save strategy.
