App settings — views, PDFs, certificates & QR
Everything that decides how a finished record looks, prints and gets shared.
Choose how records are displayed
The tour starts with views. The same records can be a list for someone auditing them, a kanban board for a team working through them, or a roadmap and Gantt when the work has dates and dependencies. Grouping stacks on top — by site, by owner, by status — and each team can lean on the view that suits how they think.
- List — Dense and sortable, best for review.
- Kanban — Status columns for work in progress.
- Roadmap & Gantt — Dates and dependencies laid out on a timeline.
Control what the PDF says
Records get shared outside Knowella constantly — with a customer, a regulator, a contractor. The PDF export settings let you choose which fields print and in what order, so the document that leaves your organisation is the record as you want it read, not a raw dump of every internal field.
Certificates and QR access
Where a completed record should produce proof, attach a certificate and it is issued on submission. The QR code solves the opposite problem: getting people into the app quickly. Print it, put it at the workstation or on the equipment, and the person standing there scans straight into the right form instead of navigating to it.
Why it matters
Adoption usually fails on friction rather than features. A form that takes four taps to find, or a record that prints as an unreadable wall of fields, quietly stops being used. Settings is where you remove that friction — and it is the cheapest work in the whole build.
