Where overbilling hides in carrier invoices

Ask an AP team how much overbilling they catch and the honest answer is usually "what we have time to check". Most of it isn't fraud. It's small mismatches that add up.

Where it hides

  • The wrong rate basis. A contract priced per pallet, billed per hundredweight, or the other way round.
  • Accessorials nobody approved. Detention, layover, lumper or driver assist that wasn't agreed.
  • Fuel on the wrong base. Fuel surcharge calculated on more than the linehaul.
  • Off-contract lanes. A lane with no contract billed at a spot price.
  • Duplicates. The same load billed twice, sometimes weeks apart.
  • Quantity differences. Billed for pallets that weren't delivered.

Check every invoice, not a sample

AI can match every invoice line against the contract and the cost your TMS expected, pass the ones that match, and show the math on the ones that don't. Your team stops sampling and starts recovering.
